"Miracles exist – you just have to believe it." It's clear that Fabio really does believe in miracles, as he came from humble beginnings and turned his simple life in Italy into a modeling career and much more. His career is wide-ranging, including TV commercials, acting roles, television roles, and modeling. One of his most prominent modeling jobs was as a cover model for romance books. This was his main career throughout the 1980s and 1990s, after which time he modeled less but still made appearances on TV and began moving into the business world, as well.

Growing up in Italy, Fabio Lanzoni likely never thought he'd be known by only one name and famous enough to be recognized that way. But now he's a household name and has continued to focus on health and exercise during his career. An unlikely chance at getting noticed may have made him a star, but he's taken that fame and done something valuable with it. Along the way, he also kept his principles and what was important to him first and foremost. Ready to learn all about Fabio, how he got his start, and what he's doing now? Read on. Here's all you need to know.

Getting Discovered Due to Exercise

Fabio was raised Catholic, along with his older brother and younger sister. He was an altar boy, and the son of a mechanical engineer who owned a conveyor-belt company. When Fabio was working out, a photographer noticed him and started him on his modeling career. He remained in Italy, working as a model and a film star, before he moved to New York City. There, he was a catalog and fashion model for the Ford Agency. He did TV spots for Nintendo and print advertisements for the Gap during that time. In 2016, he became a US citizen.

After he came to the United States, he started working in TV shows and commercials along with his print ads. He starred as Claudio in Acapulco H.E.A.T. (1993), and also appeared in The Bold and the Beautiful several times. He has been on Step by Step, Big Time Rush, and Ned's Declassified. Fabio has also had cameo appearances in Spy Hard (1996), Zoolander (2001), and Dude, Where's My Car? (200). In 1994, he released an album. In 2005, he hosted the reality TV series Mr. Romance, which was designed to give the winner the chance to work as a romance book cover model. He has also written a number of historical romance novels.

Throughout all that Fabio did in his career, he always stayed true to the things he believed to be most important. He said, "People come to Los Angeles and sell their soul every day. It’s sad. Here, the mentality is that everyone has a price. But I say no – no money can buy my soul." He has stood by that opinion and belief throughout the ups and downs of fame in Hollywood, and has turned down roles that didn't suit him or that he felt weren't something he wanted to be a part of. While Fabio has had a number of acting roles, he's generally most known for being a spokesman for a number of different brands.

He's More Than Just a Pretty Face

Many people know Fabio for his I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! commercials, beginning in 1994. He's still the spokesman for the company, and has also been spokesman for the Geek Squad in 2007 and Nationwide Insurance in 2006. That commercial aired during the Super Bowl, and was a popular commercial that earned over one million views online in the first two weeks after its release. Fabio has also been a spokesman for the American Cancer Society, Ames Hardward, and Old Spice. A 2011 campaign had Isaiah Mustafa and Fabio battling to be the Old Spice Guy.

Business ventures are also a part of life for Fabio, who says, "In life, you have to be happy with yourself first, number one." He has always seemed to see the importance of that, and he continues to do so. In 2003 he launched a clothing line for women. The casual wear was carried at Sam's Club, which is a division of Walmart. He also wrote a fitness book and created a video for those who wanted to work out at home. In 2008, Fabio launced a vitamin company called Healthy Planet Vitamins. The company sells colostrum, whey protein, and glutamine products. It's clear that Fabio has become, and will remain, much more than the model that he began as. He has much more than that to offer to the world.
