“I'd rather be overweight and curvy than super thin with no curves. I'm proud of my body.” Leaving her hometown of St. Helens, Oregon after studying theater and psychology at Portland State University for two years, Holly Madison had bigger plans for her future when she moved to Los Angeles and enrolled at Loyola Marymount University. Once she was settled in, she set out to pay her tuition as a waitress at Hooters and as a model for Hawaiian Tropic. Before long, her stunning beauty turned all the right heads as she found herself invited to numerous events at the Playboy Mansion. A year later, the 21-year-old Madison was invited to move in.

Despite that she wasn’t officially a Playboy Playmate, moving into the mansion was a huge step for Madison as she was featured alongside housemates Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson on the E! Network’s hit reality series The Girls Next Door from 2005 to 2009. During this time, Madison was in a relationship with Playboy founder Hugh Hefner but, after the two split in 2009, she left both the series and the house.

In the years since leaving the mansion and Hefner’s side, Madison has enjoyed moderate success with her own reality series, Holly’s World, in addition to a handful of appearances on television shows like Dancing with the Stars and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Eventually relocating to Las Vegas, some of Madison’s greatest accomplishments are on The Strip where she starred in a topless burlesque show called Peepshow from 2009 to 2012 and later opened her 1923 Bourbon and Burlesque speakeasy club in 2014.

Between her multiple ventures in Las Vegas, her time in the Playboy Mansion and touring to promote her two memoirs, Madison certainly knows the value of maintaining her good looks especially since she’s a wife and mother of two. With that said, she isn’t the only Playboy model who has opted for plastic surgery to enhance her looks and won’t be the last. So, what has the 5’7” tall blonde bombshell had done? She’s gone under the knife for a rhinoplasty to reshape and slim her nose in addition to getting breast implants to help her meet the wild standards of life as a Playboy model.

“Plastic surgery made it easier for me to get things I wanted in my career,” Madison said. “Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. My nose photographed really big in front of my face. If I wanted to do anything in the entertainment industry, I needed to get it fixed.”

With Madison openly admitting that plastic surgery has boosted her career, experts can’t help but agree as their response has been overwhelmingly positive. One Beverly Hills surgeon even said, “Madison is a good plastic surgery poster child” since it helped advance her career straight to the Playboy Mansion and reality television. Without the surgery, many wonder—Madison included—if she would’ve found the same success.

Although the 36-year-old model is open about her breast enhancement and rhinoplasty, that doesn’t mean she’s looking to take her looks to the extreme and wants to avoid other procedures like Botox at all costs. “I’m scared of getting stuff put into my face,” she said. “It makes you look like you have a rubber mask on.” Regardless, that hasn’t stopped rumors from circulating that Madison has also had cheek implants and a forehead lift. Quick to deny the rumors and face her critics head on, Madison said, “I wouldn’t get anything else done right now. Maybe when I’m 60, but I don’t want to go back under the knife anytime soon.”

In addition to talking about her looks, Madison is also incredibly open about her life in the Playboy Mansion and says things weren’t always easy in the house especially when it came to beauty. “Hugh [Hefner] would pay for surgery if someone wanted it, so there was almost always someone in the house in recovery,” she said. Admitting it was a bit nightmarish at times, Madison said, “We would all try to differentiate ourselves, but Hugh really wanted us the same.”

With her breast enhancement coming long before Playboy, Madison was shocked when she finally entered the house. “There was so little I was actually allowed to do in the Mansion; so much time was spent on how we looked. We were all competing with one another,” she said. “I saw a lot of girls come through that were published as Playmates and they looked good naturally and they just started picking at themselves and kept getting thing after thing after thing done.”

Ultimately deciding to step away from Hefner and the house, Madison is finally happy with her life and her looks. “I think sometimes people start picking a little too much. I’m glad I stopped when I did.” Still as beautiful as ever as a mother of two, we can’t help but agree!
