"If you can't be with yourself, you'll never learn to be with anyone else." Kelly LeBrock rose to fame as the perfect woman in Weird Science (1985) and The Woman in Red (1984). When we call LeBrock the perfect woman in those films, we mean that quite literally. Starring in a role where your characters were designed from the ground up to check off every box can be hard to deal with, especially when you want to have a career afterward! Fortunately, LeBrock did alright as she has enjoyed a prosperous career that has spanned multiple decades.

While LeBrock may be most well-known for the work that she accomplished in her early years, she has still accomplished quite a bit during her entertainment career. Her performance in Weird Science would cement LeBrock in pop-culture history. Now, let's take a trip down memory lane in order to see what else LeBrock accomplished during her career.

Starting as a Model

Kelly LeBrock was born March 24, 1960, in New York City, New York. Despite being born in New York City, LeBrock would end up getting raised overseas in the Kensington region of London. Her father had French-Canadian heritage while her mother, Maria, was notably Irish. LeBrock had one sibling, a brother named Harold, who tragically passed away in 2008. LeBrock herself was named after Mary Helen Kelly, LeBrock's grandmother.

While LeBrock wasn't born into an entertainers household, she didn't take long to get into the game. By the time that LeBrock was 16-years-old, she was already beginning her career as a model in New York City. By the time that LeBrock was 19, she had landed a starring spread in the coveted Vogue magazine. Her hits as a model would keep on coming as she was contracted by Christian Dior to work for the label up to 30 days per year.

Never one to pass up a great opportunity, LeBrock soon became famous for her modeling work and career as a spokeswoman. LeBrock popularized the line, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" during a Pantene commercial. The line has now become one of the most popular catchphrases in pop culture history.

For all of her success as a model, LeBrock wasn't going to stay in the medium forever. So, LeBrock decided to try to transition into the world of acting. While LeBrock didn't know what she was getting into, she certainly couldn't have expected what was to follow.

Becoming an Actress

While Kelly LeBrock had been finding success as a model since her teenage years, she wouldn't make her acting debut until 1984's The Woman in Red. LeBrock played Charlotte opposite of acting legend Gene Wilder. LeBrock's portrayal of Charlotte would quickly catapult her to 'Sex Symbol' status. Seizing on that popularity, LeBrock would star in Weird Science in 1985. The film was focused on two high school inventors who use a computer program in order to invent the perfect woman. The film was directed by John Huges and it starred a young Anthony Michael Hall.

After Weird Science had made LeBrock a cultural cornerstone, she would take a break from acting until 1990. It was around that time that she landed a starring role in the Steven Seagal film, Hard to Kill (1990). LeBrock would perform opposite of her husband, Steven Seagal. The film was largely panned but it was one of the larger projects that LeBrock worked on during her career.  LeBrock would follow that performance up with a string of appearances during the mid-90s in projects like, Betrayal of the Dove (1993),  Tracks of a Killer (1995) and finally, Hard Bounty (1995). LeBrock struggled to separate herself from her modeling career during this time.

Following her brief bout of fame, LeBrock started to pull back from the acting world. She would land minor roles in films The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2001), Gamers (2006), and most recently, A Prince For Christmas (2015). Outside of acting, LeBrock has been a steady presence on a variety of different platforms. LeBrock had a pair of her lines from Weird Science sampled by the mega pop band, Bastille, for their single, Good Grief (2016).  LeBrock would also find her way onto VH1's Celebrity Fit Club (2005) where she would star as the captain of Kelly's Bellies. LeBrock would also make appearances on Hell's KitchenGrowing Up Supermodel (2016), and Don't You Forget About Me (2009), a documentary about the late John Hughes.
