Becoming famous is all about being in the right place at the right time, and having the right family doesn’t hurt too much, either. That’s the way it’s been for Kylie Jenner, who of course is from the Kardashian-Jenner family that’s taken over pop culture to become phenoms all on their own.
Jenner was born into the family on August 10, 1997, with her parents being Kris and Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner. Obviously, Jenner had come from an affluent family with her father being an Olympian, but she probably wouldn’t have been able to guess what kind of fame was coming her way. After her older sister, Kim Kardashian, started to become more famous, the family would end up being featured on reality television.
It was in 2007, when Jenner was just 10 years old, that the world was introduced to her through the E! Network series “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”. The show would become an instant success for the network, putting the family’s stock through the roof. Millions would watch each week to see the family, including seeing Jenner grow up in front of the world.
All of the exposure that the young Jenner received helped her develop a following on social media, where she was able to document her life and became looked upon for fashion advice. That made Jenner even more of a brand, as she started to develop her own line of makeup, as well as a fashion line with sister Kendall.
To this day, Jenner still appears on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, as the series has allowed most of the family members to get their own spin-off series. Jenner was no exception, as she starred in the series “Life of Kylie”. Many expected the show to become a big hit for E!, but the series would last for just eight episodes in 2017 before having the plug pulled.
On top of the two main series that she’s been involved with, Jenner has also made appearances on her family members’ reality series, including Caitlyn, Kourtney and Khloe to name a few. In 2018, she would also make her film debut when she had a cameo in the action-comedy “Ocean’s 8”. Even though she’s only recently entered her 20s, Jenner has already been a huge name in pop culture for the past decade, and only figures to keep making appearances on screen. She’s said that a potential acting career couldn’t be ruled out, as long as the conditions are right.
Jenner has been able to become a brand on her own that’s allowed her to be worth an estimated $50 million before even being old enough to have a legal drink. “I haven’t had a dollar of my mum’s money for the past five years,” she said. “Ever since I started earning my own money, I’ve paid for everything: all my cars, houses, clothes, everything. And my parents are so proud of me, because I’ve always told them that I wanted to do my own thing, and now that I know what that thing is and have found something I’m truly passionate about, they’re so happy.”
It became headline news for Jenner in 2018 when she announced that she was pregnant. The reality star that had previously been in a relationship with rapper Tyga was having her child with another rapper, Travis Scott. Jenner told the world that she became a mother for the first time in February 2018, naming her daughter Stormi.
“I feel like it’s just been so amazing and so much fun,” she said about being a mother. “I’m learning so much more about myself and life, and it’s been such a great experience.” It isn’t always easy being a mother, she admits, though. “Of course there’s hard times and stuff…even in the beginning, just not sleeping, the nights, like, baby blues…and all the ups and downs.”
As for her future, reality television isn’t always going to be in the works. “Living in the spotlight means that people think they know everything about me. They don’t. I only show people what I want them to see,” she says. “And, in time, I think I’ll just slowly start moving behind the scenes. The show has to end eventually and I’m not going to leave until we’re all done with it…I want to have the whole of my cosmetics line out, because that’s my primary focus. I definitely won’t want to be doing anything else that would make me more public.”
Social media will always play a large role for Jenner, who picks up thousands of new followers every day on all of her accounts. Even if Jenner isn’t on television anymore, she’ll still figure to be one of the most famous people around. Jenner also uses her influence in hopes of becoming an inspiration to young women. “I do feel like I inspire them,” she said.
