Born Into Comedic Royalty

Maude Apatow was born in Los Banos, California on December 15, 1997. Maude comes from comedic royalty as both of her parents have become cultural icons in the entertainment world. Maude's father is Judd Apatow, one of the most successful comedic producers and directors in recent memory. Maude's mother is the comedic actress Leslie Mann. Mann has starred in several of Judd's films, and she has worked closely with her daughter on several other projects, including Knocked Up (2007). Maude also has a younger sister named Iris Apatow. Iris has also appeared in several of their father's works.  Being born into a family of comedians helped to put Maude in the right place to learn the tricks of the trade.

In her early years, Maude attended Crossroads School in Los Angeles. Eventually, Maude would pursue higher education from Northwestern University. At Northwestern, Maude pursued studies in the film industry, focusing as well on both radio and television. Since her early childhood, Maude has been fascinated by acting. While Maude had very little formal training as a child, she was still able to secure relatively fun supporting roles in her father's work. Maude would make her major acting debut at the tender age of 10-years-old.

Outside of the world of film, Maude is in a romantic relationship with Charlie Christie. Charlie and Maude began dating in May 2018. Getting Knocked Up

When your father is one of the most talented comedy directors in the industry, it doesn't take long to land a great role. Maude Apatow made her acting debut in the hit 2007 comedy, Knocked Up. The film was written, produced, and directed by her father. In the film, Maude played Sadie, the daughter of her real-life mother's character, Debbie. The film would become an instant hit, receiving both critical and commercial acclaim. Despite being only 10-years-old, Maude was able to showcase her natural skills.

After Knocked Up was released, Maude would stay active in the entertainment industry. When she wasn't at school, Maude was working on more of her father's projects. She gained a supporting role in the film, Funny People (2009). The film flopped at the box office but was still considered a critical darling. A few years later, Maude would appear in This is 40, which was an informal sequel to Knocked Up. Again, Maude reprised her role as Sadie while co-starring with her mother as well as Paul Rudd. The film received mixed reviews, though the cast always received high praise. The film would help land Maude her first major accolade, a Young Artist Award nomination in 2013. Maude would appear in a cameo role in the comedy Pitch Perfect 2 (2014) as well as Other People (2016).

Outside of the work that Maude has done with her father, she has worked on a pair of prominent television projects. Maude Apatow scored the biggest role of her career with a three-episode arc on the hit HBO series, Girls (2015).  Girls is one of HBO's most decorated comedies with several Emmy and Golden Globe wins. Maude would parlay that appearance into a starring role in the teen drama series, Euphoria (2019). Euphoria would also star Eric Dane, Zendaya, and Angus Cloud. The series has been extensively praised for the high-level acting of the cast as well as the strong subject matter and effective visuals. No word on a second season has been released at the time of this writing.

While Maude Apatow has had significant success as an actress, she is still looking for her standalone big-break. Right now, the only film on Maude's upcoming schedule is an untitled collaboration between SNL star Pete Davidson and her father, Judd Apatow. The untitled project will focus on Davidson's life and the impact that the loss of his father, a firefighter, during the tragic 9/11 attacks. The film will also star Bill Burr, Jimmy Tatro, and Steve Buscemi.
