Meadow Rain Walker is the only daughter of the late action star, Paul Walker. Walker was the star of the Fast & the Furious franchise as well as a former child actor in the late 1970s and early '80s. Paul was on the upturn of his career at the time of his passing and Hollywood heavily mourned his loss. At the time of the accident, Meadow was only 12-years-old.
While Meadow has had to grow up under tragic circumstances, she has not let them overshadow the rest of her young life. Meadow has been in the public spotlight since she was a child, and she continues to get more and more popular with age. Meadow is a social media star with millions of followers across all of her platforms. Meadow also spends much of her time working for the organization known as the Paul Walker Foundation.
Life on a Movie Set
Meadow Walker was born on November 4, 1998. Her father is the movie star Paul Walker, whom you've already gotten to know. Her mother is Rebecca Soteros. Soteros and Paul were no longer dating at the time of his accident. Still, Rebecca continued to care for Paul despite a guardianship bid by Paul's mother, Cheryl. Cheryl would end up agreeing to drop the case. Since then, Meadow and Rebecca have lived in both Hawaii and Los Angeles, and they are still living together today.
As a youngster born into a Hollywood family, Meadow spent much of her early life going to set with her father. In fact, Meadow would spend so much time on set that she would develop a friendship with Paul's co-star, Vin Diesel. Diesel would end up becoming Meadow's godfather upon Paul's request.
Outside of her life on set, Meadow would go to a public school in Hawaii. She spent much of her early childhood with her mother while Paul was filming all over the world. Meadow was a notoriously good student, but she had always had a flair for the entertainment industry. She would go with Paul to the set of the Fast and the Furious films as often as Paul would allow, eventually growing close to the entire cast and crew.
While Rebecca and Paul ended up cutting their relationship relatively short, they both agreed to co-parent Meadow together. Meadow would end up moving to Los Angeles with Paul only a couple of years before his tragic passing.
Life After Dad
The tragic loss of Paul Walker would end up shattering Hollywood. Not only would Paul's friends and family members rally around Meadow, but many of his co-workers would, as well. It was clear that Paul was a special person in a lot of people's lives, and Meadow would end up receiving all of the support that she could possibly want.
Away from the public spotlight, Meadow has stayed relatively low profile. Despite having millions of followers on her personal Instagram account, Meadow rarely ever makes any posts. Despite having the account for years, she has only uploaded ten total pictures. Still, Meadow has 1.5 million followers and each image is quick to go viral. It is clear to see that she and her father are still being fondly remembered by their fans.
When Meadow's father passed away, she ended up inheriting his enormous wealth. As a result, Meadow has been able to insulate herself from the public spotlight. Very little is known about what she does in her private life. Of the few nuggets of information that are available, we know that Meadow is close friends with Justin Bieber as well as the cast of the Furious franchise.
Meadow makes sporadic appearances at events organized for the Paul Walker Foundation, which she established on her own. The Paul Walker Foundation is all about honoring Paul's memory while pushing toward goals that he himself would have believed in. The motto that the Paul Walker Foundation lives by is simple, 'Do Good.' The Paul Walker Foundation is operated by Meadow Walker, Michael Domeier, and Jean-Michel Cousteau. The foundation largely focuses on helping the environment and, specifically, the ocean. Meadow has taken after her father's love of marine biology. Meadow says, "My father loved the ocean, and was always teaching me new things. I want this foundation to do many good things, including helping others who share my father's passion.
While Meadow Walker continues to duck away from the spotlight, it is easy to see that she is continuing to live up to her father's expectations. Whether or not Meadow ever joins the public spotlight again in earnest, it appears that she is doing the best that she can in the wake of her loss.
