$10 Million
"I feel like more than 80% of the world wouldn't get up in front of 40 million people and dance on national television, and if I have the confidence to do that then that's a step ahead in my life for me in terms of personal goals. I will gain a lot of confidence on all aspects right there." Confidence is definitely something Rob Kardashian has plenty of. As part of a TV family that's nearly always in the news in some way, he's grown used to acknowledgement and criticism. He's also in the spotlight a lot of the time, even when he may not want to be. Because of that, he's found ways to feel comfortable and confident no matter what the situation is like. But how did he get his start, and what's up next for this talented man with the household name? Read on to find out.
Born in LA and Into Fame and Fortune
Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, to parents Robert and Kris. He has three older sisters, and in 1991 his parents divorced. Kris married Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) that same year. That gave Kardashian step-siblings, and the marriage produced half-siblings, as well. Kardashian's father passed away from esophageal cancer in 2003. In 2009, Kardashian graduated college with a business degree. While he's a businessman in many ways, he's also in the limelight and part of a famous family that gives him unique opportunities to support causes and work on ideas that matter to him. In 2011, for example, he was on Dancing with the Stars. He worked as a Miss USA judge in 2012, and has taken on a number of successful business ventures.
He has his own sock line, has been on dating shows, and has had TV shows of his own, including the one he shared with his family. Keeping Up with the Kardashians ran for several seasons and had mixed reviews, but it had a lot of success with fans. The Kardashians were often said to be "famous for being famous," as none of them were actors or had seemed to do much in order to get their TV show. But their exploits were interesting, and fans were hooked. Much of Kardashians' dating life was addressed on the show, when he dated actress Adrienne Bailon. That relationship lasted from 2007 to 2009, and was frequently chronicled on the show. His relationship with Blac Chyna got him a spinoff show of his own, and their relationship eventually ended - as did the show.
Career and Personal Life Blended Together
About the sock line Kardashian created, he has said, "I feel like dress socks differentiate you in a different way - especially men in suits who just have the traditional business suit. The dress sock is the way to change it up in your mind and I like wearing my pants up higher so you see them." While socks might not be the thing most quickly associated with Kardashian by most people, they are a big part of his business ventures and a successful line of products. He takes them seriously, and wants to make sure his company develops them in ways that provide both style and comfort to anyone who wears them. Businessman and others who choose his sock line can find themselves with bolder colors and styles that help them make a statement in the world and the workplace.
In December 0f 2015, Kardashian was hospitalized with diabetes. It was not known at the time of his hospitalization that he was suffering from the disease, as the problem was discovered after he was admitted. He was again in the hospital with diabetes-related issues the following year, but doesn't appear to have been hospitalized since then. Taking better care of himself could be part of the reason for this, as could the daughter he had with Blac Chyna. Wanting to be around for his child would mean controlling his diabetes, which is something he's hopefully doing more carefully. Not just for his family, but for all the fans who are waiting to see what he will do next.
The best place to find Kardashian these days seems to be in the business world, where he checks on his ventures and works toward developing new ones. Not every venture he's been involved with has been successful, but most of them have seen at least modest success. With that in mind, fans can expect to see more of Kardashian, both on the TV and in the business world, where they'll be able to buy products from the companies he develops. We definitely haven't seen the last of Kardashian just yet, and there's no telling what he'll do next.
