If you grew up with The Little Rascals (1994) playing on your television set, then you already know who Ross Bagley is. Bagley is an American-born actor that got his start in Hollywood at the tender age of six-years-old. Bagley is most well-known for portraying the character named Buckwheat in The Little Rascals as well as Nicky Banks in the hit television series, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1994–1996). While Bagley started in the entertainment industry at a young age, he was relatively quick to move on to another career.
Now living in Los Angeles, Bagley is making a career out of selling homes for Keller-Williams Realty, Inc. Bagley has kept his personal information incredibly hard to find, so not much is known about the former child star. Having said that, Bagley was an instrumental figure to 90s pop-culture thanks to several prominent roles.
If you want to learn a little more about the enigmatic former child star, you've come to the right place!
Growing up in Hollywood
Ross Bagley was born in Wisconsin Dells, WI on December 5, 1988. For those individuals that have been to Wisconsin, they'll know that the Dells are as opposite of the Hollywood scene as you could get. Bagley's parents quickly came to realize that their son might be a child prodigy, and they were quick to relocate to Los Angeles so that their child could pursue a career in the industry.
Once in Los Angeles, Bagley didn't take long before he was gaining the attention of local talent agencies. Bagley was a member of the First A.M.E. Church Choir in Los Angeles. During a live performance, Bagley was able to impress a talent manager that had just happened to be in the crowd. The manager would talk with Bagley's parents about pursuing a life in the entertainment industry. At the fresh age of 5-years-old, Bagley was already on his way to becoming a Hollywood star. A string of successful projects would have industry insiders wondering if Bagley was the next big thing. As you'll soon find out, Bagley's career trajectory changed in a relatively dramatic way
Outside of his work in the entertainment industry, little else is known about Bagley. We do know that he would graduate from California State University and that he quit taking on roles after 2015. The latest update from Bagley places him in Los Angeles where he is working as a real estate agent while raising his son.
Child Star of the 90s
Finding success in Hollywood as a child star is impossible for 99.9% of the people that attempt it. Ross Bagley seemingly stumbled from one massively successful venture to another as a child, thus defying the odds. Bagley's first role was in the cult-classic film, The Little Rascals (1994) as the character, Buckwheat. Buckwheat stole the show with an array of quippy one-liners including the famous song, "We got a dollar, we got a dollar, we got a dollar, hey hey hey!"
Bagley's eye-catching turn in The Little Rascals would lead the burgeoning 6-year-old star to a regular role on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1994–1996). Bagley portrayed young Nicky Banks in the final two seasons of the iconic Will Smith program. When Fresh Prince ended its run in 1996, Bagley fell right into a couple of major motion pictures. Bagley would voice act the Puppy character in the film Babe (1995) before reuniting with Will Smith in Independence Day (1996) as Smith's child, Dylan Dubrow.
At this point in time, Bagley began to pull away from Hollywood. Whether it was Bagley's disinterest in the work or the guidance of his family, Bagley slowly let his career come to a standstill. Since Independence Day, Bagley has appeared in two television shows while also voicing the character Hutu in the cartoon, The Wild Thornberrys (1999). In 2015, Bagley appeared in the animated film, Gnome Alone along with Josh Peck, Patrick Stump, and Jeff Dunham. The film was commercially and critically panned.
Now an adult, a 30-year-old Ross Bagley is working for Keller-Williams Realty, Inc. According to the scant information that Bagley has allowed to see the internet, Bagley secured his real estate license in 2013. Bagley says of his early childhood roles, "I've been teased endlessly about Buckwheat, not so much Fresh Prince. But I take it in stride because most of the people who might have something to say are actually fans of my work, so it's actually a compliment."
Ross Bagley has a son, but no information is known about his current relationship status. Bagley is also developing his skills as a DJ., as can be garnered from a look at his social media accounts. He can be followed on Instagram at @realdealrossyb.
