Raised in Connecticut
Scott Bryce was born and raised in New York City. Bryce was born on January 6, 1958, in New York City, New York. His dad was the former actor Ed Bryce who had played Bill Bauer on the hit series, The Guiding Light. While Bryce spent a considerable amount of time in New York City, his family would relocate to Westport, Connecticut.
In Connecticut, Bryce would attend Staples High School where he would perform in the theater group, The Staples Players. Bryce would perform at the Palace Theater on Broadway for the production of Caesar & Cleopatra in 1977. The project also featured Rex Harrison. Bryce would later star in Sally's Gone She Left Her Name on Broadway. Bryce was one of the rare talents that was able to succeed in film, on stage, on television, and as a producer.
During his early years, Bryce would become a prolific performer. His talent and affinity for film would lead him to Juilliard School of Arts where he would become a student. Thanks to his family's background in entertainment, a trait that spans nearly four generations, Bryce was able to find his footing in Hollywood relatively early on in his career.
Fame at an Early Age
When it comes to making an impact early, Bryce could probably teach a lesson or two. Bryce would make his debut in the soap opera As the World Turns (1982) as Craig Montgomery. This role would become Bryce's calling card as he appeared as the character an additional 135 times. Bryce would develop a reputation for his quippy lines and earnest portrayal.
Following As the World Turns, Bryce would land a role in the television series, The Facts of Life in 1988 as Rick Bonner. From that moment forward, Bryce was almost always working. Over the span of his first decade in Hollywood, Bryce would appear on hit projects like The Golden Girls (1990), Who's the Boss? (1990), and even the hit sci-fi film, Close Encounters (1990). Following that string of successful appearances, Bryce would grow into a regular actor on series like Murphy Brown (1990), L.A. Law (1991) and Popular (1999).
While Bryce would land a number of major projects throughout his career, he would frequently return to the world of television. Bryce would score a six-episode arc on the show, One Life to Live as Doctor Crosby. He would also appear in shows like Blue Bloods (2014), Deception (2013), and Homeland (2011). During the later portion of his career, Bryce would slowly begin to peel back from acting in Hollywood in order to focus on his work as a developmental talent. Bryce has since become the Manager of Development for Docere Palace Studios located in Norwalk, Connecticut. Bryce has become a high-level producer and director for non-fiction projects. Some of his production credits include The Elisha Stockwell Story and The Sybil Ludington Story.
Thanks to his work on television, Bryce would end up being nominated for two Daytime Emmy awards. He would also earn several notable awards for his work on the soap opera As the World Turns. Among the awards nominations that Bryce would receive are the Soap Opera Digest Award, a string of Daytime Emmy nominations, and finally a Soap Opera Digest Award Nomination. He has since cemented himself in soap opera history thanks to his work as Craig Montgomery.
Outside of his work in the entertainment world, Bryce has been married to Jodi Stevens since 2003. The couple has one child together. In his free time, Bryce enjoys producing music videos, playing his own guitar, and spending time at his company. Bryce and Jodi had their first and only child, Jackson, in 2006.
