"She wants to be a boy, so we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers." - Angelina Jolie on Shiloh Jolie-Pitt.
Being born into a famous family cannot be easy, especially when your parents are, like, really famous. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is the daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. She was born across the ocean in Swakopmund, Namibia. As the eldest biological child of the Pitt-Jolie union, Shiloh received her fair share of the public spotlight.
Finally a teenager, Shiloh is starting to find herself in front of the paparazzi at an alarming rate. Despite this fact, Angelina is clear that she wants to make sure that her child grows up the right way. Jolie says, "I'm conscious that I have to make sure I don't ignore Shiloh's needs, just because I think the others (siblings) are more vulnerable."
While Shiloh is one of the most famous celebrity children on the planet, precious little is actually known about the young girl. Angelina Jolie has been downright fierce with regard to protecting her family from the spotlight. With that being said, Shiloh has grown more and more extroverted over the years, so we're finally getting a glimpse into what her life is becoming.
Born in the Spotlight
Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born on May 27, 2006, in Swakopmund, Namibia. Shiloh was born in the Cottage Medi-Clinic Hospital and as such has dual citizenship in both the United States and Namibia. Shiloh is the eldest biological child of Angelina Jolie and, as a result, she has received more attention than any of her other, numerous, siblings.
Shiloh received her name from her maternal grandparents, Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Marcheline had intended to name her first child Shiloh but a medical emergency rendered that impossible. Angelina fell in love with the name, and she kept it in her back pocket until the time was right. In fact, Angelina would use Shiloh as her code name when she was staying at a hotel in order to hide from media attention or her rabid fanbase.
Shiloh has been described as something of a tomboy due to the way that she dresses and acts. Angelina has repeatedly said that Shiloh is the most similar child to her and Brad Pitt when it comes to personality. While Brad and Angelina have famously broken up, it has been said that Shiloh still takes after both of them in equal measure.
Millionaire at Birth
Being the first biological child shared between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has its fair share of perks. Outside of the fame and fortune, Shiloh was one of the most anticipated births in recent memory, lagging only behind whatever the Royal Family has been up to. When the news broke that Jolie was pregnant with Shiloh, there was a mad dash by the press in order to secure the rights to her baby pictures. In fact, it would cost nearly $7.6 million dollars in order to purchase her first pictures. Easy money, right? After her baby pictures were sold, Shiloh would officially enter into the record books for having the most expensive baby pictures of all time. Jolie and Pitt did not keep the money, however, as they opted to donate it to charity.
Shiloh's early fame didn't stop with her baby pictures. At just two months old, Shiloh would become the youngest person to EVER have a wax figurine installed into Madame Tussaud's legendary collection in London. We're not sure how different most babies look from one another, but Shiloh's wax figure is probably pretty accurate, for a two-month-old baby.
Early on in her life, Shiloh was described as being verbal and goofy, willing to always be the center of attention. Shiloh has caught the eye of fashion savvy teens thanks to her tomboy attire and complete disregard for traditionally feminine roles. Outside of her fashion ideas, Shiloh has positive reactions to her work in the film industry. While Shiloh is a long way from becoming the same level of stardom as her parents, she's already putting in the work to get there. Shiloh would appear in the 2008 film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button as the baby version of Caroline. Not coincidentally, her father was the star of Benjamin Button. Later, Shiloh would earn a role in the animated film, Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016).
Despite Angelina and Brad having decided to keep their children out of the spotlight, Shiloh continues to pop up in magazines and photos. Despite this fact, Brad and Angelina do their best in order to treat their children in an equal and fair manner. Shiloh has five other siblings, including three adopted brothers and sisters: Pax, Zahara, and Maddox. Shiloh has two younger biological siblings, Knox and Vivienne.
