“She is one of those people who laughs with her whole body. Completely open and full of joy.” What a wonderful thing to say about another person, and it's the type of statement that embodies Zahara Jolie-Pitt. She was adopted by Angelina Jolie when she was only six months old, and she's been in the limelight ever since. She's walked the red carpet with her mother numerous times, and has learned what it's like to be the child of a power couple in Hollywood. That hasnt' always made things easy for Jolie-Pitt, though, because it can be hard to have privacy when you grow up with famous parents.
In 2014, Jolie-Pitt had a role in Maleficent with her mother, even though the role was uncredited. She was the voice of Meng Meng in Kung Fu Panda 3 in 2016, as well. Since that time, though, she's mostly been on the sidelines of the acting world. That's largely her choosing, as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have both agreed that they will not push their children into acting or force them to follow in their footsteps. Her parents' divorce has also been a subject of much publicity, and Jolie-Pitt and her siblings have been waiting patiently for the media issues to die down. So, what's she going to be up to next? Let's find out.
The Adopted Child of Famous Parents
Angelina Jolie has been very public about the adoptions of her children, along with the births of her other children with Brad Pitt. While she adopted many of her children as a single parent, Pitt adopted the children and his last name was hyphenated with hers to make sure the children were all included in their union. Some controversy surrounded Angelina and Brad when they first got together, but as they stayed together and became a power couple that began to change. They soon had a family of six children, three that were adopted and three that were biological.
In Ethiopia, Zahara's birth mother was keeping up with what happened to her daughter and was grateful that Jolie and Pitt adopted her and gave her so much that would not have been possible for her otherwise. At the time of her adoption, Jolie didn't know that Zahara's mother was alive, and was told the child was an orphan. After learning the truth she was shocked, but Zahara has enjoyed her life with Jolie and Pitt, growing up in the Hollywood spotlight with parents who were famous and recognized everywhere. She has everything she could want or need from parents with a net worth of $400 million.
She also has the love and affection of a big family, with siblings to play with and spend time with. There's also the opportunity for acting, as she wants to follow in Jolie's footsteps and act in movies and television shows. The odds are high that she'll get the chance, as the children stayed with Angelina when she divorced Brad and will generally get the chance to focus on building careers of their own as they get older. The unfolding of Brad and Angelina's marriage put Zahara's acting career on hold, as it did with all of her siblings, but that won't be the case forever and Zahara will get her chance at stage and screen.
Growing Up in the Hollywood Spotlight
While Zahara Jolie-Pitt might have felt the spotlight on her adoptive parents, she also found herself in that spotlight during their very public divorce. Her birth mother was contacted in Ethiopia and asked what she thought about it. She stated that she wanted Zahara to stay with Jolie, as children should be with their mother and Angelina was a good mother to them. She felt that Zahara was cared for well, and that she would be fine after the divorce was over. Her birth mother also stated that she knew both Jolie and Pitt wouldn't want any harm to come to their children, and would focus on caring for them.
The one wish that Zahara's birth mother had during the interview was to be able to meet and talk with Zahara, and let her know about her family in Ethiopia. That's generally against adoption protocol, but will ultimately be up to Jolie when it comes to whether she wants to take Zahara to meet her birth mother or not. No matter what she chooses, though, Zahara is growing up quickly and it's likely she'll soon be making her own decisions. One of those may involve her birth mother, but it's safe to say that some of them will also involve getting more fully into acting. Fans of her famous parents are anxiously waiting.
